Why the physical network and access operator change what you pay
Freedom is most relevant if you care about using your own router, having a static public IPv4 address or native IPv6, rather than only chasing the lowest introductory price. It sells DSL and fibre over many networks, and two local networks bill network use separately, so the service price is only part of the monthly picture.

What sets Freedom Internet apart, how its offers are put together and what renters should know before choosing it.
Freedom Internet is particularly relevant if you want your own router, a static public IPv4 address or native IPv6 rather than choosing purely on the lowest introductory price. It sells DSL and fibre over several networks, and even two routes over KPN can have different monthly charges because the access operator differs. The published network prices include FRITZ!Box rental; using your own suitable hardware reduces the subscription by €3 a month. Two local networks require special care: GlaswebVenray and Midden-BrabantGlas bill network use separately, so Freedom’s €18 service price is only one part of the household’s monthly bill.
The published table distinguishes both the physical network and the active access operator. For example, gigabit over KPN with KPN access is not priced like a KPN route through Fiber Operator or Fiber Crew. Match all three items—network, operator and speed—before comparing, rather than choosing the lowest Freedom amount nationwide.
Freedom describes a static public IPv4 address and native IPv6 with a /48 prefix. These are useful distinctions for an own firewall, remote access or a home server, but do not configure those services for you. Check the router’s firewall and network settings; a public address is not a security guarantee.
On GlaswebVenray, add the separately billed €38.42 network fee, giving €56.42 monthly before a possible €5 rural supplement. On Midden-BrabantGlas, the €39/€44/€49 membership fee makes €57/€62/€67 with the €18 service. These are different billing components, not competing optional extras.

Freedom’s network table already includes router rental, so adding another router charge would double-count that component. Using your own suitable router instead reduces the monthly amount by €3. Network/operator choice is usually the larger price difference: a gigabit route cannot be compared just by the Freedom brand. Separately billed cooperative or network fees must remain visible alongside the service price. The recorded offers differ by technology, speed, network and term. Examples: Glasvezel 50 Mbit/s (12 months): €53.00; Glasvezel 100 Mbit/s (12 months): €55.00; Glasvezel 200 Mbit/s (12 months): €59.00. These examples describe different selections, not benefits that can be stacked. Use the full price explanation of the variant you would actually order, including its later price and setup conditions. The listed network tariff includes FRITZ!Box rental. A suitable own or purchased router reduces it by €3 per month: €36 over twelve months, before hardware purchase costs. That is a recurring equipment choice, not an introductory internet discount. An optional installation technician is listed at €25.

Compare the minimum term first, then the cancellation notice, activation costs, installation timing and equipment return conditions. A low promotional month can be poor value if it requires a year or two of payments. A monthly option is only useful when the connection can actually be activated during your stay; ask for the start date and any one-off charges before ordering.
Download is used when receiving files or streams; upload is used for cloud backups, sending large files and your outgoing video during calls. A symmetric fibre tier advertises the same rate in both directions. Compare the two figures separately: a gigabit cable download does not imply a gigabit upload, and a higher headline download alone does not show how quickly a household can send data.
Freedom’s network table restricts pairbonding to an existing pairbonding connection. The €60 tariff is therefore not an upgrade anyone with a single copper pair can automatically choose. The available DSL rate remains address-specific; verify the actual line arrangement before comparing it with ordinary DSL or fibre.
