Oasen water for your household, from the first address check onward

Use the company guidance to connect registration, readings and bills

Oasen supplies eastern South Holland and southwestern Utrecht, including parts of the Green Heart. About Oasen

Who Oasen is, where it supplies drinking water and what renters should check first.

Oasen supplies drinking water in eastern South Holland and southwestern Utrecht, including parts of the Green Heart. Mijn Oasen brings registration, moving, readings and billing together. For renters, the key questions are who pays the supplier, which meter belongs to the home, and which readings apply at key handover.

Where Oasen supplies water

Oasen's service area crosses provincial and municipal boundaries. Gouda is a useful regional reference, but neither a province nor a municipality proves supply for every address. Use the Vewin finder and Oasen's registration route to confirm the home.

Your Oasen account, step by step

From registering a new home to the final bill: how Oasen handles each step, with a direct link to the official page for it.

  1. Step 1

    Register a home with Oasen

Open Mijn Oasen, choose 'Account aanmaken' and then the option saying you are not yet a customer. Oasen allows a move to be reported up to three months before key handover. For a future date it emails a personal reading link on the day; the reading finalises registration. Start at the portal home if a deep registration link fails. Before registering, check your tenancy agreement and ask who holds the water account. A separate meter does not by itself prove that you need a direct contract: the landlord may invoice the water. Confirm the arrangement to avoid paying twice.

  2. Step 2

    Meter readings for Oasen

Oasen accepts annual readings through Mijn Oasen or the personal email link. Report the black digits, not the red ones. Its instructions warn that a late reading can lead to an estimate and that correcting it afterward may incur a charge. Where the home has a meter, check that it serves your home, especially in a shared meter cupboard. Follow the supplier’s display instructions and do not invent a reading if access is impossible. Ask the landlord or building manager for access or a dated reading. For a genuinely unmetered home, confirm the applicable billing arrangement instead.

    Submit a reading
  3. Step 3

    Moving with Oasen

Deregister the old address separately and register the new one if Oasen also supplies it. Correct a changed key date in Mijn Oasen. Submit dated readings for both homes and retain the final invoice; do not rely solely on the next tenant to close your account. At each key handover, record the actual reading and meter number if the home has a meter, photograph the display and keep the handover report. For an unmetered supply, confirm the supplier’s or landlord’s billing arrangement instead. Use the dates you receive and return the keys, which may differ from the day you move your belongings. Keep the supplier’s confirmation and a forwarding address for the final bill.

  4. Step 4

    Bills and tariffs at Oasen

Oasen's bill combines variable consumption, an annual fixed charge and taxes. New registration may attract an administration fee; Oasen states that online registration is cheaper than telephone or letter. Check the current tariff schedule rather than assuming registration is free. An instalment is an advance, not an all-inclusive price. For a metered supply, compare opening and closing readings; for an unmetered supply, verify the applicable units or billing category. Check the billing dates, consumption, fixed charges and tax lines on the settlement. A short tenancy or low consumption does not automatically remove applicable fixed charges. Use the current official tariff schedule rather than a national average to budget.

Questions about Oasen

Answers about registering, moving, meter readings, bills and water quality with Oasen, based on its official pages.

I am new to Oasen. Should I just create a Mijn Oasen login?

Start at Mijn Oasen, choose 'Account aanmaken' and indicate that you are not yet a customer. That directs you towards registering your supply address, not merely accessing an existing account. Have your address and key date ready, and keep the supplier's registration confirmation before considering the task finished.

What happens if I tell Oasen about my move before the meter reading is known?

Oasen allows a move to be reported up to three months before key handover. Enter the planned date; on that day it sends a personal link for the reading that finalises registration. If the key date changes, update it in Mijn Oasen instead of submitting a reading against the wrong date.

Why does Oasen charge an administration fee when I register?

Oasen lists an administration fee for a new registration in its moving guidance. It also states that registration through Mijn Oasen costs less than by telephone or letter. Check the current tariff schedule for the amount; do not assume a free login account means the supply registration itself is free.

What if I miss Oasen's annual meter-reading deadline?

Oasen says it may estimate your use if the reading is late, and a later correction can carry a charge. Use the personal link in its request or Mijn Oasen and enter the black digits, not the red ones. If an estimate is already on the bill, contact Oasen with a current photo and the relevant dates.

Why can an Oasen quality report mention water produced by Evides?

The supplier on your bill and the company producing a particular water supply need not be identical. Oasen explains that Zwijndrecht and southern Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht receive water from Evides's Baanhoek treatment site. Use Oasen's locality-specific quality table; that production detail is not an instruction to switch your account to Evides.

How does Oasen reconcile the advances I pay with my actual water use?

Oasen's annual invoice compares the actual billed use with the advances paid monthly or quarterly. The advance can be adjusted in Mijn Oasen, but lowering it does not lower the water tariff or erase consumption. Compare the full year's advances and readings before deciding that a refund or extra charge is wrong.

Can I choose a different water supplier at this address?

Drinking-water supply is organised by service area. Check your address with Oasen or the Vewin finder; a lower tariff elsewhere does not make that company available at your home. You must still arrange registration or a move when you are the account holder.

Water is included in my rent. Should I register myself?

Ask the landlord who holds the supplier contract and how your water costs are settled. If the landlord supplies and bills the water, first clarify that arrangement instead of opening a second account. Ask for the supplier invoice, relevant readings and an explanation of any shared-cost allocation.

I cannot find the meter or the opening reading. What should I do?

Look in the handover report and ask the landlord or building manager which meter serves the property. Photograph the current display and contact Oasen if the handover reading is missing. Do not submit a neighbour's reading, a guessed value or an invented zero. If the home is genuinely unmetered, ask which billing category applies rather than inventing a reading.

There is a leak or no hot water in my rental. Who should I contact?

Use the supplier's official fault page for a mains outage or suspected network problem. For a leak inside the building, shared pressure equipment or a hot-water appliance, also contact the landlord or building manager promptly. A hot-water-only fault does not establish a drinking-water network outage.
