DELTA internet: fibre and cable are different products, and moving changes the rules

DELTA’s home-internet range includes fibre and regional cable products, which have different upload rates and should not be treated as one technology. On the verified fibre campaign, the discount period changes with the contract: six months on a one-year plan or fourteen months on a two-year plan for the staged 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps offers. The regular price, network contributions and annual indexation still matter after the headline promotion. Installation can be done yourself or through the paid expert option shown with these offers. DELTA’s switching service applies to an existing address; a move needs separate cancellation and activation planning.

The verified 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps fibre campaign uses €30 monthly during the discount, but the discounted months depend on the contract: six on one year, fourteen on two. Compare the remaining regular-price months as well as the introductory saving. A network contribution and annual indexation can still affect the bill, and the optional €29 expert installation is not compulsory for every customer. The recorded offers differ by technology, speed, network and term. Examples: 500 Mbps Glasvezel (12 months): €42.50; 1000 Mbps Glasvezel (12 months): €52.50. No: the published switching service is for changing providers at the same address. For a move, you arrange the old connection’s cancellation separately. The service accepts switch dates 15–120 days ahead, but a new fibre connection may still require construction. Leaving an old fixed term early can cause charges from that provider; the switching service does not erase those obligations.

DELTA publishes own-equipment and bridge-mode instructions, but separates coax, point-to-point fibre and PON fibre. First identify the connection and supplied device, then use the matching procedure. A guide for one cable modem does not establish bridge support for every optical terminal. Check any television and telephone dependencies before changing the network setup.

Download is used when receiving files or streams; upload is used for cloud backups, sending large files and your outgoing video during calls. A symmetric fibre tier advertises the same rate in both directions. Compare the two figures separately: a gigabit cable download does not imply a gigabit upload, and a higher headline download alone does not show how quickly a household can send data.

Every link to the device must support the intended speed: the fibre terminal, router’s WAN and LAN ports, any switch, the network adapter and cabling. A 1 Gbps Ethernet port limits one wired device even when the subscription is faster. A multi-gigabit plan can also share capacity across several devices; it does not promise that one phone will achieve the full advertised rate over Wi-Fi.

Compare the minimum term first, then the cancellation notice, activation costs, installation timing and equipment return conditions. A low promotional month can be poor value if it requires a year or two of payments. A monthly option is only useful when the connection can actually be activated during your stay; ask for the start date and any one-off charges before ordering.
