Utrecht
Utrecht gives a Zeist renter the full city: Dom Tower, canals, the country's largest station, and bus lines that already run straight in from Zeist.
- City feel
- Easy commute
Utrecht lies close to Zeist, and the bus lines already running between them, some to Utrecht Centraal and one to the university campus at De Uithof, show how closely the two are tied. What changes is the everyday setting. Utrecht Centraal is the national rail hub with Intercity trains to all major cities, the sneltram reaches Utrecht Science Park, and the universities, Rabobank, NS and ProRail give the city a bigger working and studying life than Zeist offers on its own.

Zeist is villa streets, former estate land and wooded plots. Utrecht is built in layers around its medieval core: late nineteenth-century districts such as Wittevrouwen and the Vogelenbuurt, post-war Lunetten and Hoograven, and Leidsche Rijn as the large western extension. Apartments and townhouses in dense neighbourhoods tend to outnumber detached villas, and with single-person households in the majority, smaller homes make up much of what is on offer.
