's-Hertogenbosch
's-Hertogenbosch is the walled provincial capital just along the line from Oss: Binnendieze waterways, Sint-Jan, a fast cycle route and a station that opens up Utrecht and Eindhoven.
- City feel
- Easy commute
's-Hertogenbosch is the neighbouring city on the Intercity line from Oss, and a Sprinter and a fast cycle route reach it too. The station is a key stop on the main line between Amsterdam and the Eindhoven area, with Intercity services on to Utrecht, Eindhoven, Tilburg and Breda. As the provincial capital the city has a broader job base than Oss's pharmaceutical core: a regional hospital as largest employer, vocational universities, an art academy and corporate offices such as Essent's.

Inside the old ramparts 's-Hertogenbosch is a dense fortress town of narrow streets, merchant houses, warehouses and courtyards around the cathedral, with former industrial districts such as Wijk 't Zand and De Muntel turned over to culture and creative work. Modern building concentrates in the Paleiskwartier, the Maaspoort holds the dome-shaped bolwoningen, and Rosmalen, Empel and Vinkel keep a village feel. Oss, by comparison, is a compact regional centre with squares and passages, and growth in districts such as Berghem.
