Eindhoven
Eindhoven, the Brabant tech hub, is the bigger-city option for Helmond renters: students, design, large employers and an Intercity that runs straight through from Helmond.

- Student friendly
- Easy commute
Helmond and Eindhoven share a railway line, and the Intercity from Helmond continues through Eindhoven Centraal, a major interchange for the southern Netherlands. The work on offer is different in scale: Brainport firms such as ASML and NXP, the High Tech Campus on the former Philips research site, Eindhoven University of Technology and Fontys. The city also brings a design and festival scene, from Strijp-S to the GLOW light festival, that a town of Helmond's size rarely offers.

Eindhoven is largely a twentieth-century city: a small historic core, high-rise rebuilding after wartime bombing, big estates in the Woensel districts, and newer quarters such as Meerhoven on the former airfield and Strijp-S on the old Philips grounds. Next to Helmond's castle, canal and traditional-style Brandevoort, expect more apartment buildings, and a rental market shaped by the students and knowledge workers around the university and Fontys.
