About This Rental in Breda

Spacious 1900 Heritage Mansion with Original Details on Baronielaan, Breda

This stately mansion, dating from around 1900, offers approximately 275 m² of living space and features a wealth of authentic architectural elements. The property includes six bedrooms, a separate kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a garden room, a bathroom, two separate toilets, and a wardrobe/workroom. Notable period details include monumental fireplaces, stained-glass windows, original ornamental ceilings with mouldings, panelled doors with door frames, and original staircase sections. The home is situated on one of Breda's most distinguished residential streets, around the corner from the upscale shopping and dining area of Wilhelminastraat and Ginnekenweg, and within walking distance of the vibrant city centre, Mastbos forest, and the picturesque Ginnekenmarktje square.

The ground floor features an impressive entrance with a porch leading to the living room (approximately 6.25 m × 4.22 m), the dining room, the garden room, the kitchen, and the first bathroom. The living room at the front of the house has large bay windows offering a view of the landscaped front garden, while elegant en-suite sliding doors connect to the dining room (approximately 4.30 m × 4.72 m), which contains an ornamental fireplace with a non-functional open hearth. The garden room (approximately 3.83 m × 3.17 m) also opens via en-suite doors and has French doors leading to the garden terrace. The separate kitchen (approximately 5.13 m × 2.23 m) is located in the rear extension and is equipped with a gas hob, extractor hood, a new combination oven/microwave, a new dishwasher, two new refrigerators, an inset sink, and a Jura coffee machine. A utility area beneath the staircase houses an AEG washer-dryer combination and a small freezer. The first bathroom on this level contains a shower, washbasin, and toilet.

The first floor comprises a spacious landing that provides access to three bedrooms, a large hallway closet, and a separate toilet. Bedroom I measures approximately 22 m² and is situated at the front of the property, offering views over the Baronielaan roundabout through a bay window; it connects via en-suite doors to Bedroom II, which measures approximately 19 m² and is located at the rear. Bedroom III, positioned at the front, measures approximately 7 m². The Baronielaan itself was laid out in 1897 as a wide boulevard connecting the city centre to the Mastbos, modelled after Brussels' Avenue Louise. In 2018, the street was fully redesigned with new lighting, greenery, parking bays, and original-style clinker paving replacing asphalt.

The surrounding neighbourhood offers excellent amenities, including a large Albert Heijn supermarket, several schools, and the Wilhelminapark all within a few minutes' walk. An international school is also located nearby. Major roads leading out of the city are reachable within minutes, providing convenient access for commuters. The combination of period architectural features, generous proportions, and a central yet tranquil location makes this residence well suited for families seeking space in a prestigious Breda setting. The property is offered furnished, with availability from 1 September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Does the displayed rent include utilities and service costs?

Not necessarily. Luntero shows the price and cost details supplied by the listing source, but inclusions vary by property. Check the full cost breakdown on the original source before applying, including service costs, gas, electricity, water, internet, parking, and any one-off fees.

Which documents will I need to apply?

Requirements are set by the landlord or listing provider, not Luntero. The original listing or application form should give the definitive checklist. It may include identification, proof of income or employment, student documents, or guarantor information, but do not send sensitive documents until you have checked who is requesting them and why.

Can Luntero tell me the status of my application?

No. Applications are completed with the original listing provider, so Luntero cannot see whether your application was received, shortlisted, rejected, or invited for a viewing. Contact the provider through the details in your application confirmation or on the original listing page.

Can Luntero arrange a viewing or contact the owner for me?

No. Luntero does not own or manage the property and does not have a private contact channel to its owner. Use the original source button on the listing page to view the provider's application and contact options. If public owner or agency contact details are available, they are shown on the listing page.

Why do details sometimes differ from the original listing?

A provider may update or remove a listing after Luntero last collected it. The original source is the final reference for availability, price, conditions, and application instructions. If the pages disagree, rely on the source and report the Luntero listing so it can be reviewed.

Where do I find the original listing and application page?

Open the Luntero listing and look for the 'View listing' source buttons. They identify the platform the listing came from and open its original page in a new tab. Apply there; Luntero does not accept rental applications.

How do I report an unavailable, incorrect, duplicate, or suspicious listing?

Open the listing and select 'Report an issue'. Choose the closest reason and add any useful details. Reports help Luntero review its copy of the listing; for an urgent issue involving the application itself, also contact the original platform.
