About This Rental in Amstelveen

18 m² Student Room with Balcony and Private Shower on Uilenstede Campus, Amstelveen

This 18 m² student room is located on the tenth floor of a student complex on Uilenstede in Amstelveen. The room is offered bare, giving tenants the freedom to arrange it to their own taste; the current occupant leaves behind a floor and curtains. Although the room is officially classified as non-self-contained, it comes with a private shower and toilet, while the kitchen is shared with other residents of the unit. A balcony belongs to the room, and the building is fitted with an elevator and is wheelchair accessible. The room has an energy label E and is heated through collective central heating. An internet and TV connection is available.

The room forms part of a shared student residence with a total of fourteen residents, making it a social living environment for students and PhD candidates. The complex, Uilenstede 405-461 (odd), is situated within Campus Uilenstede, a student neighbourhood at the edge of Amsterdam in the municipality of Amstelveen that houses around 3,400 student homes. The campus offers a wide range of facilities within walking distance, including a large café, a supermarket, a snack bar, a bicycle repair shop, a sports centre, a theatre, a pizzeria, a beauty salon and a diving school. The building is also equipped with MyPup parcel lockers, allowing packages to be delivered and returned at the pick-up point inside the building.

The location is convenient for students of the Vrije Universiteit, which is a little more than five minutes away by bicycle, with metro and tram connections available as well. Nature lovers are well served too: within a five-minute bike ride lies the Amsterdamse Bos, a park three times the size of New York's Central Park and known nationally and internationally for the rowing regattas on the Bosbaan. The forest offers opportunities for relaxation and outdoor sports, and various events and festivals are organised there throughout the year. By metro, tram or bicycle, the centre of Amsterdam can be reached in about twenty minutes. This makes the location a practical base for study, sport and city life alike.

The total monthly rent is €570.50, consisting of a base rent of €417.73 and service costs of €152.77. The service costs include electricity, heating, water, glass insurance and contents insurance. Housing allowance (huurtoeslag) may be available for tenants aged 18 and older, subject to the usual conditions. A one-time fee of €2.42 applies at the start of the tenancy, which can cover matters such as a nameplate or end-of-tenancy cleaning. The room is offered by DUWO, a landlord specialised in student housing, and the lease can start on 1 December 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Does the displayed rent include utilities and service costs?

Not necessarily. Luntero shows the rent and cost details supplied by the advertiser, but inclusions vary by property. Confirm the full breakdown with the publisher or on the original website before applying, including service costs, gas, electricity, water, internet, parking and any one-off fees.

Which documents will I need to apply?

The landlord or agency sets the requirements. Ask the publisher for the checklist, or follow the application instructions on an external listing’s original website. You may need identification, proof of income or employment, student documents or guarantor information. Check who is requesting sensitive documents and why before sending them.

Can Luntero tell me the status of my application?

No. Applications are handled by the advertiser, either through the contact details on a Direct listing or through an external provider. Luntero cannot see whether you were shortlisted, rejected or invited for a viewing. Ask the advertiser using the listing’s contact details or your application confirmation.

Can Luntero arrange a viewing or contact the owner for me?

No. Luntero does not own or manage the homes or arrange viewings. On a Direct listing, select “Contact publisher” to see the email and phone details provided. On an External listing, select “View original listing” for the provider’s contact and application options. Contact the advertiser yourself to arrange a viewing.

Why do details sometimes differ from the original listing?

For External listings, the provider may change or remove an advert after Luntero last collected it. Use the original website to confirm current availability, prices and application instructions. Direct listings are maintained by their publisher on Luntero; ask them to clarify any discrepancy. Report incorrect information on Luntero so it can be reviewed.

How do I contact the publisher or open the original listing?

The “Direct listing” label means the rental was published on Luntero. Select “Contact publisher” to see the supplied email and phone details. For rentals collected from other websites, select “View original listing” to respond there. Luntero does not receive rental applications or send enquiries for you.

How do I report an unavailable, incorrect, duplicate, or suspicious listing?

Open the listing and select “Report an issue”. Choose the closest reason and add useful details so Luntero can review the advert. For questions about your application or viewing, contact the publisher directly or the external provider you applied through.
