Renting in the Netherlands: Common Questions
What is Luntero, and does it own the rental listings?
Luntero helps people find and publish rental homes in the Netherlands. It combines listings from supported rental websites with homes published directly by individuals and organizations, and offers search, comparison, map, saved-listing and research tools. Luntero does not own or manage the homes or act as a letting agent.
Is Luntero free to use?
Yes. You can search rentals, use the map, compare homes, read resources, save listings and use the organizer for free. Publishing and managing your own rentals is also free; paid listing promotion is optional. Separately, Luntero Pro adds renter tools such as search alerts, Smart Messages and ad-free browsing. See the Pro plans page for those subscriptions.
Are listings and availability updated in real time?
No. External listings are refreshed regularly, but the original provider can change or remove an advert between updates. Direct listings are updated by their publisher on Luntero. Before applying, confirm availability, price, conditions and deadlines with the publisher or on the external listing’s original website.
How do I apply for a home I found on Luntero?
For a Direct listing, use “Contact publisher” and ask the advertiser how to apply. For an External listing, open “View original listing” and follow that provider’s process. Luntero does not receive applications, schedule viewings, screen tenants, take deposits or create rental contracts.
Can I list my rental property on Luntero?
Yes. Publish your rental for free on Luntero as an individual or an organization. Create a publisher profile, add photos and property details, then publish when ready. Manage your listings in the publisher dashboard and receive enquiries directly by email or phone. You can switch between finding and publishing rentals with the same account. Paid listing promotion is optional.
Does Luntero verify every listing or guarantee it is legitimate?
No. Luntero checks and structures listing data, but it does not inspect every property, verify every advertiser, or guarantee availability or legitimacy. Confirm the advertiser and address, be cautious with documents and payments, view the home when possible, and never treat the Luntero page alone as proof that an offer is genuine.
