About This Rental in Groningen

Student Room with Private Bathroom on the 16th Floor in Central Groningen

This listing concerns a room of approximately 17 m² located on the 16th floor of the Libertas building on Wouter van Doeverenplein in Groningen. The residential tower has 18 floors and is situated within walking distance of the city center. Each room has a private bathroom, offering residents a private space to retreat to, while cooking and socializing take place in the shared kitchen. The rooms are let unfurnished, but each is equipped with a ceiling lamp, curtains, floor covering, and painted walls. The regular rooms in this building are offered under a campus contract, which means the accommodation is intended for students and PhD candidates, as explicitly stated in the rental agreement.

The communal kitchens are equipped with a small refrigerator, a small freezer, a large refrigerator, two microwaves, and two induction hobs with four burners each. A countertop with personal storage space and a storage box is available for each resident. The building features an elevator, camera surveillance, and a closed bicycle storage area that is accessible with a personal tag. The same tag also provides access to the main entrance and the Wash & Go room. A roof terrace offers an outdoor space during the summer months, and restaurant Fernweh is located on the ground floor of the building. Internet is available through wifi only; a wired connection is not possible.

Each room has a PVC floor combined with floor heating, powered by heat pump technology. The heating is provided by heat pumps and boilers for warm water. During colder periods of the year, the temperature in the rooms and communal areas does not exceed 21 degrees, and residents are asked to leave the thermostat at their desired setting. In summer, the building is cooled, although the temperature in the rooms can still rise above 21 degrees. The monthly service costs cover utilities such as water, electricity, heating, and internet, as well as maintenance and cleaning of the communal areas.

Libertas is located in the center of Groningen, next to the Hoornseplas, one of the city's well-known urban beaches. Supermarkets such as Albert Heijn, Jumbo, and Amazing Oriental are around the corner, providing convenient daily shopping options. The city center, with its shops, cafés, and university facilities, is close by. There are no private parking spaces at the building, and paid parking applies in the surrounding area. The combination of a central location, shared facilities, and a private bathroom makes this room suitable for those studying or pursuing a PhD in Groningen.

Frequently asked questions

Does the displayed rent include utilities and service costs?

Not necessarily. Luntero shows the rent and cost details supplied by the advertiser, but inclusions vary by property. Confirm the full breakdown with the publisher or on the original website before applying, including service costs, gas, electricity, water, internet, parking and any one-off fees.

Which documents will I need to apply?

The landlord or agency sets the requirements. Ask the publisher for the checklist, or follow the application instructions on an external listing’s original website. You may need identification, proof of income or employment, student documents or guarantor information. Check who is requesting sensitive documents and why before sending them.

Can Luntero tell me the status of my application?

No. Applications are handled by the advertiser, either through the contact details on a Direct listing or through an external provider. Luntero cannot see whether you were shortlisted, rejected or invited for a viewing. Ask the advertiser using the listing’s contact details or your application confirmation.

Can Luntero arrange a viewing or contact the owner for me?

No. Luntero does not own or manage the homes or arrange viewings. On a Direct listing, select “Contact publisher” to see the email and phone details provided. On an External listing, select “View original listing” for the provider’s contact and application options. Contact the advertiser yourself to arrange a viewing.

Why do details sometimes differ from the original listing?

For External listings, the provider may change or remove an advert after Luntero last collected it. Use the original website to confirm current availability, prices and application instructions. Direct listings are maintained by their publisher on Luntero; ask them to clarify any discrepancy. Report incorrect information on Luntero so it can be reviewed.

How do I contact the publisher or open the original listing?

The “Direct listing” label means the rental was published on Luntero. Select “Contact publisher” to see the supplied email and phone details. For rentals collected from other websites, select “View original listing” to respond there. Luntero does not receive rental applications or send enquiries for you.

How do I report an unavailable, incorrect, duplicate, or suspicious listing?

Open the listing and select “Report an issue”. Choose the closest reason and add useful details so Luntero can review the advert. For questions about your application or viewing, contact the publisher directly or the external provider you applied through.
