Originally serving as the provincial house of Utrecht, the building was transformed into a student residence in 2013 by SSH, marking the first project of its kind in the Netherlands. The room has a living surface area of 23 m² and is part of a shared unit with nine housemates, situated on the ground floor.

The complex is set within a park-like environment, offering green surroundings, walking paths, and outdoor fitness equipment. A central courtyard provides space to relax, read, or barbecue at designated BBQ areas. Despite its location on the edge of the city, De Sterren is well-connected: a bicycle tunnel under the Waterlinieweg allows residents to reach the city center in approximately ten minutes, while the Utrecht Science Park is a five-minute bike ride away. Multiple bus routes stop directly in front of the entrance.

The room is offered under a campus contract, which requires the tenant to be enrolled as a student or doctoral candidate. Documentation proving student status must be submitted to finalize a rental agreement. The monthly rent consists of a net rent of €498.20 and service costs totaling €131.82. Service charges cover utilities such as electricity, water, and heating, as well as internet, cleaning of common areas, maintenance, waste disposal, and contributions to various shared funds.
