Does the rent cover additional costs like utilities?
The monthly rent usually only covers the property itself. Services such as electricity, water, gas, and internet are often billed separately. Always review the listing or reach out to confirm what’s included.
What paperwork do I need to rent a property?
To submit an application, you’ll typically need a government-issued ID, recent proof of income (or a guarantor’s financial details), and possibly a work or study document. Specific requirements may be outlined in the property details.
How much time does it take to hear back about my application?
Responses to rental applications usually take a few days to a week, but this depends on the landlord’s process and the demand for the property. Be sure to check your email for updates or additional document requests.
Is it possible to adjust the rental price or conditions?
In most cases, landlords set fixed prices and conditions, but it never hurts to ask! Discussing details like longer leases or minor adjustments might be an option depending on the landlord.
What should I do if I have to move out before the lease ends?
If you need to leave early, you might be asked to find someone to take over your lease or pay a fee for breaking the contract. Check your rental agreement for details and talk to your landlord to explore your options.
The rental of the apartments in phase 2 has started, with registration possible via the project website until June 29 at 12:00 PM. De Karner is a four-story apartment complex featuring a total of 15 apartments. On the ground floor, there is a bright and comfortable three-room corner apartment. The large glass facade in the living room creates a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The private outdoor area is located to the north, providing a pleasant and sheltered spot on warm days.
The Boterfabriek dates back to 1881 and is one of the oldest factories in Nijmegen. Currently, the Boterfabriek is undergoing a complete revitalization. This project preserves its cultural and historical value while adding fresh, contemporary new construction. The result is a vibrant living environment with a sustainable future.
The Boterfabriek will become a distinctive part of Nijmegen. In the old factory, there will be 25 unique apartments, some with ceiling heights of up to 4 meters! In the five new residential buildings, there will be 9 homes and 80 apartments. The housing program is highly diverse, featuring a wide range of layouts: from lofts, studios, and 2- and 3-room apartments to unique 4- and 5-room maisonettes and special urban homes. The Boterfabriek will be gas-free and climate-resilient.
The communal space will serve as a place where residents and neighbors can organize activities or simply enjoy a cup of coffee together. Parking is available in the underground garage. Between the residential buildings, there will be shared inner gardens that provide an oasis of tranquility. Additional trees and plants will contribute to biodiversity, creating a green space that fosters community and outdoor living. Living amidst greenery while being close to the historic city center of Nijmegen is what the Boterfabriek offers.
