Does the rent cover additional costs like utilities?
The monthly rent usually only covers the property itself. Services such as electricity, water, gas, and internet are often billed separately. Always review the listing or reach out to confirm what’s included.
What paperwork do I need to rent a property?
To submit an application, you’ll typically need a government-issued ID, recent proof of income (or a guarantor’s financial details), and possibly a work or study document. Specific requirements may be outlined in the property details.
How much time does it take to hear back about my application?
Responses to rental applications usually take a few days to a week, but this depends on the landlord’s process and the demand for the property. Be sure to check your email for updates or additional document requests.
Is it possible to adjust the rental price or conditions?
In most cases, landlords set fixed prices and conditions, but it never hurts to ask! Discussing details like longer leases or minor adjustments might be an option depending on the landlord.
What should I do if I have to move out before the lease ends?
If you need to leave early, you might be asked to find someone to take over your lease or pay a fee for breaking the contract. Check your rental agreement for details and talk to your landlord to explore your options.

This upper-floor flat is located in the Regentessekwartier neighborhood of The Hague and is part of an existing building constructed in 1905. The property is reached via a shared street-level entrance and internal stairs; the apartment itself occupies two upper floors. The living area measures approximately 105 m² and the layout comprises four rooms, including three bedrooms and one bathroom. Characteristic wooden flooring, ornate ceiling details, double glazing and central heating are present throughout the accommodation.
The main living space extends across the front-to-rear length of the property and is approximately 45 m². At the front there is a compact bedroom that can be used as a home office or study. The modern open kitchen features high-gloss floor tiles and is fitted with built-in appliances: gas hob, extractor hood, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and oven. Double doors at the rear of the living area provide access to a spacious balcony.
Internal stairs lead to the top floor where two additional bedrooms are located; one measures about 10 m² at the front and the other about 15 m² at the rear. The bathroom contains a bathtub, a double walk-in shower with steam function, a double sink and a toilet. There is a separate toilet on the lower of the apartment’s two internal floors. A separate boiler/laundry room on the top floor houses the washing machine and dryer.
Utilities are supplied via individual meters and are the tenant’s responsibility (gas, water, electricity); television and internet connections are to be arranged by the tenant. The property is designated for a maximum of two persons and the lease term is a minimum of one year followed by an indefinite period. A deposit equal to the total monthly rent is required and a housing permit is not required. Pets are not permitted. The apartment has an energy rating of A and there are no parking facilities provided on site.
